VIPLIMS is a laboratory information system from Visiopath Ltd, a UK pathology company. According to its site, it is free to use, with no licence fees, and running costs are covered by donations and optional paid services. It is aimed at labs of many kinds, from histopathology and cytology to food, water and environmental testing.
